Agroprodmir seeking FAS okay to buy Sibur-Minudobreniya

MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - CJSC Agroprodmir filed with Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) on November 11 an application for permission to acquire 100% of the stock in mineral fertilizer producer OJSC Sibur-Minudobreniya, the FAS told Interfax.

Agroprodmir had already been involved in the purchase of chemicals assets. In 2006, the company acquired a controlling stock interest in OJSC Voskresenskiye Mineral Fertilizers from the holding PhosAgro. It turned around and sold the stake to Dmitry Mazepin's holding UralChem two years later.

The FAS had also requests for permission to buy Sibur-Minudobreniya from CJSC Siberian Business Union. Furthermore, market sources that Metafrax , Mazepin associations, and the management of the Sibur group are vying for Perm-based Minudobreniya , which is part of Sibur-Minudobreniya.

Sibur plans to sell Sibur Mineral Fertilizers before the year is up. Aside from Minudobreniya, the company's assets include 95% of the stock in Kemerovo Azot and 100% of Angara Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant (Angara Azotno-Tukovoy Zavod). It has been reported that Sibur might sell the Sibur-Minudobreniya assets separately.

The SPARK database indicates that almost 90% of Agroprodmir belongs to fifteen private investors, and that Aeroplan LLC has around 10%.
