Tymoshenko is in serious condition - Ukrainian ombudsman
KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax) - Ukrainian parliamentary human rights ombudsman Nina Karpacheva said Ukraine's former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is currently in the Kyiv Lukyanovsky detention facility, is in serious condition.
Karpacheva told Channel 5 television on Monday she had visited the detention facility without a warning on Sunday to visit Tymoshenko.
"During my visit to the detention facility, I also visited Yulia Tymoshenko and the two other women in the cell without a warning; Tymoshenko is in serious condition, she could not get up from her bed when she talked to me. She needs a medical evaluation and treatment outside of the detention facility. In addition, I believe it is absolutely impossible to conduct investigative actions in a detention facility cell, it's the only case in the time of Ukraine's independence," Karpacheva said.
