Russian banks could boost lending 25-30% in 2011, 20% in 2012

MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - Russian banks could increase lending in nominal terms by 25-30% in 2011, Central Bank deputy chairman Alexei Simanovsky said on Wednesday.

"By the end of the year it could be 25-30%. This is very substantial growth," Simanovsky told reporters on the sidelines of a financial forum organized by Vedomosti.

Lending to nonfinancial organizations could increase by more than 25% this year, and retail lending could grow by 30%, he said.

Retail lending increased by 26% in the first eleven months of 2011, while lending to nonfinancial organizations rose by 22%, he recalled.
