Oil cos could reach investment decision on pipeline from Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye to ESPO

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Rosneft , TNK-BP and Gazprom Neft could agree by the end of the year on an investment decision for developing an oil pipeline system from the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye zone in Eastern Siberia to the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) system, Rosneft President Eduard Khudainatov told journalists on Monday.

"Last week, a meeting was conducted with Tokarev [head of Transneft Nikolai Tokarev]. I think that we will finish it off by the end of the year," he said.

On Monday, Khudainatov, Executive Director of TNK-BP German Khan and Gazprom Neft chief Alexander Dyukov discussed the concept of jointly constructing the Yurubcheno-Takhomskoye-Taishet oil pipeline, he said.

"In order to make the project pay for itself, we need to unite our efforts around this investment process," Khudainatov said, adding that in such a way production at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field would be profitable.

The pipeline from the new fields in the Krasnoyarsk territory (Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye and Kuyumbinskoye) to the ESPO system could have a throughput capacity of 18 million tonnes per year. The estimated cost of constructing the pipeline, measuring around 600 kilometers long, is 63 billion rubles.
