Ruble slips vs. dollar, euro Thurs after large gains Weds

MOSCOW. Dec 1 (Interfax) - The Russian ruble lost a little ground against the dollar and euro in Thursday MICEX trading, and the bicurrency basket ($0.55 and EUR 0.45) rose five kopecks to 35.58 rubles after slumping the day before.

The dollar ended the trading day up a single kopeck from Wednesday close at 30.745 rubles/$1. The euro closed up 8.75 kopecks at 41.4875 rubles/EUR1.

The average weighted dollar rate lost 54.51 kopecks from Wednesday at 30.8401 rubles/$1 in MICEX Today and 34.77 kopecks down at 30.8198 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow deals. Dollar trading combined to $6.905 billion, with $1.681 billion in Today and $5.224 billion in Tomorrow trades.

The average weighted euro rate lost 20.11 kopecks to 41.5178 rubles/EUR1 in Today and 11.61 kopecks to 41.5204 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow trades. Trading volume was EUR 506.94 million, with EUR 211.338 million in Today and EUR 295.602 million in Tomorrow deals.

The overnight MosPrime rate slid 30 basis points to 5.47% per annum.
