Russian stock market ends Friday on mixed note, strong gains for week
MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market closed Friday with varying trends for blue chips as market players' took profit at the week's end.
Benchmark stocks on the MICEX went up by 0.03% to 1,505.77 points while the RTS Index slipped by 0.07% to 1,545.57 points. The majority of blue chips on the indexes changed within 2.3%.
The RTS went up by 9.4% for the week while the MICEX Stock Exchange increased by 6.7%.
Advancers on the MICEX on Friday were VTB , up 2.1%, Gazprom - 1.2%, Gazprom Neft - 0.04%, Rosneft - 0.6%, Sberbank Russia - 2.1%, Transneft - 2.3% and Polyus Gold - 0.2%
Decliners on the market were NOVATEK , down 0.5%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - 1.8%, Rostelecom - 0.6%, Surgutneftegas - 1.7%, and Tatneft - 0.9%.
Second-tier MICEX advancers included Raspadskaya (+5.7%), TMK (+5.1%), Mechel (+2.8%), Sollers (+2.8%), OGK-5 (+2.5%) and OGK-1 (+2.2%).
