Russia's Titanium Valley joins ITA

MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax) - Titanium Valley Management Company has become a member of the International Titanium Association (ITA), the information policy department of the Sverdlovsk Region governor's office reported.

Joining the association gives Titanium Valley the opportunity for direct contact with titanium consumers at seminars and conference held under the aegis of the ITA, and step up cooperation with leading titanium industry experts who are prepared to consult on technical issues and provide recommendations on marketing, the department said.

The department also said that the Titanium Valley Special Economic Zone has opened a representative office in Moscow at the RUS national association of participants in the presidential management training program. Titanium Valley Management head Artemy Kyzlasov and RUS president Georgy Belozerov have signed an agreement concerning the office.

The ITA is a nonprofit trade association that was founded in 1984 by leading titanium industry companies. It members include producers, consumers and distributors of titanium products. Membership comprises 205 organizations with over 2,000 individual representatives.

The project to create the Titanium Valley Special Economic Zone calls for making the city of Verkhnaya Salda a center for businesses that process titanium for aircraft construction, the space industry, shipbuilding and the automotive industry. Investment in the project is expected to total 64.5 billion rubles by 2031, including 54.3 billion rubles to be invested by the residents of the zone.

Residents of the zone will be exempt from taxes on property, land and transport, and enjoy a profit tax rate of 15.5% instead of 20%.
