Bashneft looks to spend over 21 bln rubles on environmental problems at facilities by 2016

UFA. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Oil company OJSC Bashneft , part of AFK Sistema , plans to invest more than 21 billion rubles in the resolution of environmental problems at its own industrial facilities in 2011-2015, the company press service told Interfax in comments on a Wednesday meeting of the Bashkortostan administration's council for matters of environmental industrial safety.

There will be 14.6 billion rubles put into modernizing technological installations at oil refineries. "This will make it possible to fully shift to the production of fuel meeting environmental standards Euro-4 and Euro-5," a press service source said.

By the end of 2013, the plan is to increase the use of associated petroleum gas to 95% at Bashneft facilities, which will take 2.047 billion rubles.

In 2012-2013, the company will allocate 211.3 million rubles to the dismantling and removal - to beyond the water protection zone along the river Belaya - of pipelines for untreated waste water at OJSC Ufa Oil Refinery and OJSC Novoil (
