Gazprom to triple pay to Beltransgaz employees

MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Pay for Beltransgaz employees will triple and the Gazprom Children program will expand to Belarus, Russian gas giant Gazprom told Interfax on Thursday.

It was earlier reported that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller met last weekend and discussed only a twofold increase in pay for Beltransgaz employees.

Miller was in Minsk on Thursday, where he met with Beltransgaz's management and employees. Gazprom closed its acquisition of the Belarusian company last week.

Beltransgaz will be renamed Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, and Gazprom will build a new office with a sports complex for the company. Gazprom plans to significantly boost the efficiency of Beltransgaz's operations. Of particular importance will be bringing Beltransgaz's corporate requirements, norms and standards in line with Gazprom's, Gazprom said.

Gazprom plans to conduct an audit of the technical conditions of Beltransgaz's fixed capital. Based on the results, it will work out proposals to boost the efficiency of transport facilities and underground gas storage facilities, as well as proposals to harmonize diagnostic programs and overhaul and reconstruction programs with Gazprom's programs. Beltransgaz's technical requirements and standards will be modified to fit Gazprom's normative base.

Beltransgaz will also follow the standards for Gazprom's car fleet. The Belarusian company will start using Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Participants in the meeting examined plans for putting together a three-year and ten-year development program for Beltransgaz, as well as a general scheme for Belarusian gas supplies. Information on Beltransgaz's financial activities were presented at the meeting, including plans to incorporate the company into Gazprom's budget and to develop Beltransgaz's investment program given Gazprom's accepted requirements on optimizing expenditures.
