Russia, Algeria agree Stroytransgas tax debt settlement
MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Russia and Algeria have agreed on the settlement of OJSC Stroytransgas's tax debts to Algeria, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko said after a meeting of the Russian-Algerian intergovernmental commission.
"We discussed, among other things, the claims and possibility of erecting infrastructural facilities. We agreed that in the context of existing law that this problem would be settled in the near future," Shmatko said.
The company has already paid off a large part of the debt, Shmatko said, but he provided no specific figure.
Algerian Finance Minister Karim Djoudi said that his country is also interested in putting this matter to rest.
