United Russia tops election campaign expenditure list - election commission

MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - The Russian political parties that were involved in last Sunday's State Duma elections spent a total of about 1.8 billion rubles on their campaigns, Central Election Commission Deputy Chairman Leonid Ivlev said on Friday.

Expenditures by United Russia, which, according to official results, won the poll, and the Liberal Democratic Party made up the largest single shares of state funds spent on for campaigning, 562 million and 520 million rubles respectively, Ivlev said at a Commission meeting.
