Ukrtransgaz unable to raise 400 mln hryvni in loans
KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax) - Ukrtransgaz, a subsidiary of national company Naftogaz Ukrainy, was unable to raise two renewable loan facilities worth a combined 400 million hryvni.
According to a statement on the Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade's website, less than two competitive offers were made at the loan tender. The tender was called off.
It was earlier reported that transit of gas through Ukraine to Europe and CIS countries increased by 8.2% year-on-year to 94.987 billion cubic meters in January-November 2011. Transit of gas to Western Europe increased by 8.4% to 92.245 bcm while transit to CIS countries went down by 0.5% to 2.742 bcm.
Ukrtransgaz's system consists of 72 compressor stations, 110 operational branches and 1,451 gas distribution stations. The company's pipelines cover 38,600 kilometers, including 22,200 kilometers of trunk gas pipelines and 16,400 kilometers of gas pipeline branches.
Ukraine's gas transportation system can import 288 bcm and export 178.5 bcm, including 142.5 bcm to European countries and 3.5 bcm to Moldova.
