Russian car production up 47% in Jan-Nov - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - Car production in Russia increased 46.9% year-on-year to 1.6 million vehicles in January-November, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported.
Truck production, including chassis and excluding dump trucks, increased 36% to 188,000 vehicles, bus production - 3.1% to 37,200.
Compared with October of this year, November saw the assembly of 3.9% fewer automobiles, but output was up 24.8% year-on-year.
The production of excavators decreased 4.3% year-on-year to 1,800 vehicles, while that of tractor-trailers and semi-trailers increased 17.5% to 10,000.
Russia's main car producers are OJSC AvtoVAZ , the Sollers group, and OJSC Avtoframos (Renault's plant in Moscow). The country's main truck-builders are OJSC KamAZ and the GAZ group.
