Russia and India will cooperate in building civilian aircraft - Medvedev
MOSCOW. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Russia and India are determined to expand cooperation in aircraft-making, mainly civilian, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said.
At a Friday Kremlin meeting with representatives of Indian and Russian business circles Medvedev said that last year he discussed with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh "the idea of spreading our successful experience to the civilian aviation sector."
"I hope that now we are starting to implement it," he said
This year at a session of the bilateral intergovneremtnal commission the sides recorded the understanding to advance cooperation in civilian aircraft-making. The Indian side was offered the opportunity of acquiring Russian civilian aircraft and participating in the joint development of advanced aircraft, in particular MS-21.
