Veropharm increases sales 15% to 4.5 bln rubles in 9mths

MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Russian pharmaceutical company OJSC Veropharm increased its sales by 15% year-on-year to 4.534 billion rubles in January-September 2011, the company said on Monday.

Company's sale of prescription medications increased by 15.4% to 3.184 billion rubles. Sales of OTC (over the counter) medications increased by 16.4% to 578.76 million rubles while sales of tradition al medicines went down by 55% to 22.5 million rubles.

Sales of bandages, bandaids and cosmetic goods came to 748.5 million rubles, which is a year-on-year increase of 17%.

Prescription medication accounted for 70.2% of sales, OTC - 12.8%, bandages and cosmetics - 16.4%, and traditional medications - 0.5%.

Veropharm's sales in the framework of the Federal Reimbursement Program came to 102.7 million rubles, accounting for 2.3% of the company's total sales.

Sales in Russia accounted for 96.6% of the company's sales. Exports accounted for 3.4% compared to 3.7% of sales a year previous.

The company started production and sale of seven new medications and cosmetic products in January-September. In addition, the company received registration for five new products. Another five medications are now going through state registration.

Veropharm's debt came to 979.1 million rubles at the end of January-September 2011.
