Miller, Semashko discuss Beltransgaz's integration into Gazprom
MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko have discussed issues surrounding Belarusian gas pipeline operator Beltransgaz's integration into the Gazprom group and the enterprise's further development, Gazprom said in a press release.
Miller and Semashko agreed that bringing Beltransgaz's corporate requirements, norms and standards in line with Gazprom's practices would significantly boost the Belarusian company's efficiency, the press release said.
Miller and Semashko also looked at the prospects for Beltransgaz's production, sales and financial activities.
Miller told Semashko that Gazprom had decided to rename Beltransgaz 'Gazprom Transgaz Belarus.'
On November 25, the Russian and Belarusian governments signed an agreement on pricing for natural gas deliveries to Belarus and the transportation of gas along Belarusian pipelines, and an agreement on the terms for the purchase-sale of shares in and the continued activity of Beltransgaz. Gazprom and Beltransgaz signed gas supply and transit contracts for 2012-2014, and Gazprom and the Belarusian State Property Committee signed a deal by which Gazprom purchased 50% of Beltransgaz and thereby consolidated 100% of the pipeline operator.
