Perm Mineral Fertilizers might reelect board of directors

PERM. Dec 22 (Interfax) - The board of directors at Perm-based OJSC Mineral Fertilizers will convene on December 29 and vote on calling an extraordinary shareholder meeting, the company said in a statement.

The sole issue that might be included on the board meeting's agenda is the preterm cessation of the board's authorities and its new election.

The head of the SIBUR Holding, Dmitry Konov, earlier said that the company plans to sell its fertilizer production assets, such as Perm Mineral Fertilizers by year's end.

Market sources earlier told Interfax that Metafrax , companies controlled by Dmitry Mazepin, and SIBUR's management, are vying for Perm Mineral Fertilizers.

The general director of UralChem, Dmitry Konyayev, confirmed the company's interest on Wednesday in the Perm-based enterprise. UralChem plans to file an application with Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) for the purchase of Perm Mineral Fertilizers by year's end. He said that UralChem hopes to receive approval for this in mid-January.

SIBUR currently de-facto controls Perm-based Mineral Fertilizers. SIBUR-Mineral Fertilizers owns 3.15% in the enterprise and the potential rights to purchase an additional 48%. UralChem owns around 46% in Perm Mineral Fertilizers.
