Kazakh GDP to grow 7.3% in 2011 - Nazarbayev

ASTANA. Dec 27 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's GDP will expand by 7.3% in 2011, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

"As the preliminary results of 2011 are being summarized, the president notes that the outgoing year has been a very important and successful one. The real GDP growth will amount to 7.3%. Per capita GDP will reach $11,000," the presidential press office said in a statement on Monday.

"Agriculture has grown by 25.5% compared to last year, construction by 3%, industry by 4%. The trade and transport sectors have also grown," the statement said.

GDP in January-October 2011 grew by 7.2%. In 2010 the GDP growth stood at 7%. The earlier growth forecast for 2011 was also 7%.

The gold and currency reserves of Kazakhstan, including the gross reserves of the National Bank and National Fund, were $75.4 billion as of the end of November.
