Uralkali buys back $137 mln in shares, GDR last week
MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Uralkali bought back 11.575 million shares for $7.41 each and 1,399,000 Global Depositary Receipts (GDR) for $37.09 each last week for a total of $137 million, the potash miner said in a statement.
Uralkali has repurchased $349 million in stock and GDR since its buyback began.
Under the buyback program, in the year October 6, 2011 to the same date next year, the plan is to put $2.5 billion towards the purchase of stock and GDR for the purposes of increasing company capitalization. Shares will be acquired in Russia and GDR on the London Stock Exchange at the going market prices.
