South Stream parameters to depend even more on Ukraine after Turkish approval - Miller
MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - The parameters of the South Stream project will depend even more on Ukraine's negotiating position after Turkey's recent permission to lay the pipeline in its waters, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told journalists.
A few days ago, Miller said that the South Stream project is bound to Ukraine.
On Wednesday, he said that South Stream was always bound to Ukraine, and after permission was received to construct the pipeline, "it became even more strongly bound [to Ukraine]."
Asked if he expected any changes to the imported gas price negotiating position in light of Turkey's green light, Miller responded, "The Ukrainian parliament has already decided that an average gas delivery price of $416 per thousand cubic meters is built into the country's budget."
"Our gas price is pegged to the oil-product basket, and permission to build South Stream in no way affects the pricing formula that Gazprom uses in its contracts either generally or with separate countries," Miller said.
