Gazprom to choose co-investor in Bavarian power station on tender basis
MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Gazprom plans to determine a partner for constructing a power station in Bavaria on a tender basis, Gazprom Export head Alexander Medvedev told journalists.
"We will choose a partner on a tender basis," he said when asked who could become Gazprom's partner for work in Germany's electricity sector and whether it could be RWE, with which Gazprom previously implemented an agreement on exclusive negotiations on the subject.
Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller has told journalists that the gas major expects to participate in three to five energy projects in Bavaria. He also said that RWE lost its right to exclusivity in negotiations with Gazprom on energy projects, although the negotiations can still continue.
Gazprom could also continue negotiations with other European companies, he said.
Asked under which conditions Gazprom could participate in energy projects in Bavaria, Miller said that "today there are no limitations to considering 100% investment." He added that Gazprom is ready to supply gas to energy facilities at lower prices than it offers to wholesale consumers. However, the company has not yet determined any specific sites.
