Over 30 apartment buildings, Kyzyl Thermal Electric Plant damaged by quake - Tuva govt
KYZYL. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Cracks were found in the panel seams of the industrial facilities and the turbine section of the Kyzyl Thermal Electric Plant during an inspection following a recent earthquake, the Tuva Republic's housing and utilities agency has reported.
The quake also damaged 31 apartment buildings in Kyzyl, the report says.
An earthquake was registered in the Kaa-Khemsky district of Tuva 100 kilometers east of Kyzyl at 7:22 p.m. on Tuesday. The earthquake had a magnitude of 9.5 at the epicenter (located at a depth of 10 km) and 6.7 on the surface. The earthquake was felt in Tuva, Khakasia, the Krasnoyarsk territory, and the Irkutsk, Kemerovo and Tomsk regions. Aftershocks with a magnitude of 4.5 and 3.5 were reported in Tuva.
