Vostsibugol plans to boost production capacity 44% to 22 mln tonnes by 2020
IRKUTSK. Dec 29 (Interfax) - LLC Vostsibugol, part of OJSC Irkutskenergo , plans to boost its coal production capacity 44% to 22 million tonnes by 2020, the company said in a statement.
Vostsibugol's coal producing enterprises currently have a capacity of 15.3 million tonnes per year.
This year, Vostsibugol produced 15.8 million tonnes of coal, an 8.4% increase over last year. The company intends to produce the same amount of coal in 2012 that it did this year.
Vostsibugol is the largest coal producing company in the Irkutsk region. In 2010, it increased coal production in the Irkutsk region and Krasnoyarsk territory by 21% to 14.6 million tonnes.
Vostsibugol's affiliate, Cheremkhovugol Strip Mine (manages the Cheremkhovsky and Golovinsky strip mines) has a capacity of 4.9 million tonnes of coal per year. Its affiliate Tulunugol Strip Mine (manages the Azeysky and Mugunsky strip mines) has a capacity of 7.9 million tonnes. LLC Trayling and LLC Irbeysky Strip Mine (Krasnoyarsk territory), which fall under Vostsibugol's management, have capacities of 1 million tonne and 1.5 million tonnes per year, respectively.
