Gazprom indexing wages 6%

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - Russian gas giant Gazprom will be raising the minimum wage rate for parent company employees by 6% as of January 1.

Company CEO Alexei Miller announced the decision Wednesday at the traditional results selector meeting, an attendee told Interfax.

The rate was increased 7.9% at the start of this year and 8% at the beginning of 2010.

The increase is figured in large part on an inflation forecast based on Economic Development Ministry data.

Most Gazprom group companies have similar methods for indexing wages, but Gazprom Neft has its own.
