Dollar rises to 32 rubles on MICEX, ruble going down against bi-currency basket
MOSCOW. Jan 5 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar has gained markedly on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX), reaching 32 rubles amid the euro's intensifying decline on the Forex market. The ruble lost its morning gains and is going down against the bi-currency basket.
The dollar has risen to 32 rubles/$1 on MICEX, gaining 22 kopecks compared to the previous close against a backdrop of the euro's fall on the Forex market to its minimum since 2010. The euro has fallen to 40.985/EUR1 on MICEX, shedding 23 kopecks. The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR 0.45) has gained 7 kopecks against the previously close, reaching 36.09 rubles after the morning decline to 35.9 rubles.
The euro fell below $1.285 in day's trading on Thursday to its lowest since autumn 2010 amid growing pressure on the single currency over problems in the euro zone.
