Russian natural gas production increased 3.1% in 2011

MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Natural gas production in Russia increased 3.1% in 2011 compared to 2010 to 670.544 bcm, the Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy Complex (CDU TEK) said.

In December Russia produced 62.954 bcm of gas.

Gazprom posted production of 509.664 bcm in 2011, 47.942 bcm of that amount in December.

Major independent gas producer NOVATEK extracted 53.334 bcm (4.877 bcm in December). Other oil and gas companies extracted 19.029 bcm (1.913 bcm), operators of production sharing projects 24.815 bcm (2.386 bcm).

In 2011 vertically-integrated oil companies turned out 63.703 bcm of gas (5.836 bcm).

The biggest volumes were extracted by Lukoil - 15.986 bcm (1.436 bcm), Surgutneftegaz 12.949 bcm (1.121 bcm), TNK-BP Holding 12.232 bcm (1.094 bcm), Rosneft - 11.792 bcm (1.120 bcm), and Gazprom Neft 7.086 bcm (0.671 bcm).
