Consumer prices for gasoline in Russia up 14.9% in 2011 - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Consumer prices for car gasoline in Russia increased by 14.9% in 2011, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said on Tuesday.

Prices for gasoline went down by 0.3% in December 2011 after going up 0.6% in November. The increase in gasoline prices last year was 140% above the inflation rate (6.1%).

Gasoline prices increased by 6.5% in 2010 after increasing 8% in 2009, 1.2% in 2008, and 8.5% in 2007.
