Medvedev appoints Abyzov his advisor to coordinate Open Government's work

GORKI, Moscow region. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Mikhail Abyzov as his advisor to coordinate the work of the so-called Open Government, presidential press secretary Natalya Timakova told journalists.

"Abyzov will be mostly responsible for coordinating the Open Government's work and developing mechanisms of its interaction with government bodies," she said.

A task force led by presidential chief of staff Sergei Ivanov will be set up in the near future, "within the framework of which mechanisms of the Open Government's work will be developed," she said.

Ivanov's deputies in the task force will be Abyzov and presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich, Timakova said.

Abyzov took part in his new capacity in Wednesday consultations hosted by Medvedev, which dealt with preparing a long-term concept of Russia's development for a period up to 2020.
