Ulyanovsk plant to build several dozen Il-476 planes by 2020

ULYANOVSK. Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The Aviastar-SP enterprise, located in the Russian city of Ulyanovsk, plans to build several dozen Ilyushin Il-476 military transport airplanes as part of Russia's state weapons procurement program for the period up to 2020.

"Dozens of airplanes will be manufactured by the Ulyanovsk enterprise," Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told journalists on Friday.

The Il-476 airplane will go into serial production in 2012, an Aviastar-SP spokesman told journalists.

The plane is expected to conduct its maiden flight in the second quarter of the year, after which flight trials will be launched.
