Seaport of St. Petersburg increases cargo handling 3% in 2011
ST. PETERSBURG. Jan 25 (Interfax) - Seaport of St. Petersburg increased cargo handling 3% to 59.989 million tonnes in 2011, federal state institution Seaport Administration, Big Port St. Petersburg said in its materials.
Handling of general freight went up by 9% to 13.963 million tonnes while container processing increased by 16% to 21.978 million tonnes.
At the same time, handling of liquid products went down by 21% to 7.173 million tonnes. Also, handling of petroleum products at the port decreased by 4% to 15.677 million tonnes.
