Leningrad University Law Faculty alumnus to oversee Gazprom Export relocation
MOSCOW. Jan 25 (Interfax) - Igor Gazin, who graduated from the Law Faculty of Leningrad State University in 1975, the same year as Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, will oversee the relocation of Gazprom Export to St Petersburg in the capacity of deputy general director of Gazprom's export arm, Gazprom Export told Interfax.
Gazin, 59, served in the armed forces from 1975 to 2001, and held senior posts at the St Petersburg branch of Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) from 2001 to 2006. He was first deputy director of the St Petersburg branch of the City Hals management company in 2006-2007, and was director of the St Petersburg branch of the Chastnoye Pravo law firm from 2008 before being appointed deputy general director of Gazprom Export in December last year.
Gazin is highly decorated: he has received medals of the first degree for Excellence in Military Service and medals of the second and third degrees for Distinguished Conduct in the Armed Forces; and medals to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the City of St Petersburg, and the 60th and 70th anniversaries of the Soviet armed forces.
