Sberbank sees Eurobond market window - Gref
DAVOS. Jan 25 (Interfax) - Sberbank of Russia sees a 'window' of opportunity on the market for Eurobonds and is discussing with investors the scale and terms of a possible deal, the bank's chief German Gref told the press during the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday.
"We really see a 'window' on the market now," Gref said, when asked about a non-deal road show for debt investors in the United States and Britain that Sberbank is conducting this week. "It is early yet to talk about placement parameters and volume, and this question is now being discussed with the market," he said.
Commenting on the state of borrowing markets generally, Gref said they could not be described as fully closed. "We are trying to raise funds abroad. But the borrowing volume, of course, is insufficient, and in this situation the Central Bank's role as the creditor of the last instance grows more and more," he said.
The organizers of the meetings with investors are Barclays Capital, BNP Paribas, Citi, and Troika Dialog .
