Number of Russian tourists to Turkey grows 11.5% in 2011

MOSCOW. Jan 25 (Interfax) - About 31 million foreign citizens visited Turkey in 2011, up 10% from 2010, when more than 28.6 million people spent their holidays in Turkey, Celal Kilic, the chief of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry's office in Moscow, has announced.

This figure includes about 3.5 million Russian citizens, up by 11.6% compared to 2010 (3.1 million), he said.

Germans are the most frequent visitors to Turkey, followed by Russians, Kilic said.
