Russian customs collects over 6 trln rubles in 2011

GORKY. Jan 26 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Customs Service (FCS) collected 6.028 trillion rubles in customs charges for the country's federal budget last year, FCS chief Andrei Belyaninov has said.

"Foreign trade turnover is growing. In 2011, in comparison with the pre-crisis period, we observed a rise of all indicators, both for imports and for exports. Collections exceeded the pre-crisis level and reached a singular record - 6.028 trillion rubles," Belyaninov said during a meeting with President Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday.

Medvedev noted that the top figure prior to the crisis was 4.7 trillion rubles.

Imports ran to 2.115 trillion rubles last year, Belyaninov said. "The proportion of imports in customs payments is rising," he said.

The president said that consumption in general is increasing. "The structure is such that the significant share of imports is being maintained," he said.
