Enel OGK-5 genco generates 0.9% less electricity in 2011
MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - The Enel OGK-5 generating company produced 42.435 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2011, 0.9% less than in 2010, the company said in a press release.
"Net output dynamics were affected by Reftinskaya GRES's modernization of Unit 5 and long-term maintenance of Unit 9, which has been offset by the output increase at gas-fired power plants, in particular thanks to the commissioning of two CCGT units at Nevinnomysskaya GRES and Sredneuralskaya GRES during the year," the company said.
Power sales by the company rose 4% to 47.862 billion kWh. Power sales do not include sales under free two-party contracts, in keeping with the company's practice of reflecting electricity sales in accounting to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The share of free market sales increased from 67% in 2010 to 84% in 2011, driven by the liberalization of the wholesale power market, Enel OGK-5 said.
Heat sales by the company totaled 6.783 million Gcal, 4% above the 2010 level.
OJSC OGK-5 is registered in Yekaterinburg. Its production affiliates are Konakovskaya GRES, Nevinnomysskaya GRES, Sredneuralskaya GRES and Reftinskaya GRES. The total gross installed capacity of the company's production assets is 9,562 MW for electric power, and 2,612 GCal/h for heat.
Italy's Enel owns 56% of the shares.
