Imports to Russia from non-CIS up 26.7% to $15.3 bln in Jan - FCS

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Imports into Russia from non-Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries grew 26.7% year-on-year to $15.3 billion in January, according to preliminary data published on the Russian Federal Customs Service's (FCS) website.

The share of machinery and equipment in imports from non-CIS countries grew from 47.4% in January of last year to 50.7% in January of this year. The share of products from the chemical industry in imports grew from 14.7% to 14.9%. The share of textile items and shoes in imports was down from 7% to 6.7%, and the share of foodstuffs and materials for their production was down from 17.4% to 13.6%.
