Base development scenario for Rospan involves gas output of 16.5 bcm in 2017-2024
MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - The base development scenario for TNK-BP's Rospan International project involves reaching an output plateau of 16.5 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in 2017-2024, Vice President of TNK-BP's Yamal-Gas Division Viktor Blagoveshchensky told journalists.
At the moment, the project produces roughly 3.2-3.8 bcm of gas per year. In 2014, output is expected to increase to 4 bcm, and in 2015 - to roughly 8.5 bcm. Later, TNK-BP's scenario becomes more optimistic - production could grow to 14 bcm in 2016 and reach a plateau of 16.5 bcm in 2017, maintaining such output all the way until 2024, Blagoveshchensky said at a presentation of the project for contractors and suppliers.
The future of Rospan depends on the speed of its development, drilling and commissioning of new wells, and an agreement with Gazprom for gas deliveries to its gas transport system. "Today we have a technical basis for hooking up to Gazprom's system. As you may remember, there is an agreement on gas supplies until 2013. Negotiations are underway on prolonging deliveries. But this is a business issue, and I'm not prepared to comment on it," he said.
The project for the full-scale development of Rospan's gas fields entails six key sub-projects totaling around $6 billion. The projects include expanding the complex gas processing facility at the East-Urengoyskoye field, restructuring the complex gas processing facility at the Novo-Urengoyskoye field, setting up these two fields, arranging external gas pipeline transport, building inter-settlement pipelines and condensate pipelines, and setting up a loading dock with railway access lines and a tank farm at the Karachaevo station.
