Income gap in Russia practically unchanged in 2011 - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - The income gap in Russia hardly altered n 2011.
The Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said the wealthiest 10% of the population had 30.8% of money incomes last year, compared with 30.9% in 2010. The poorest 10% had 1.9%, as in 2010.
Aggregate money incomes totaled 35.209 trillion rubles in 2011, up from 32.101 trillion rubles in 2010. Expenditure rose to 34.775 trillion rubles from 31.466 trillion rubles.
Rosstat said 2.9% of the population had an average monthly income of less than 3,500 rubles in 2011, compared with 3.9% in 2011; that 4.6% had between 3,500 and 5,000 rubles (5.6%), 8.2% between 5,000 and 7,000 rubles (9.4%), 13.5% between 7,000 and 10,000 rubles (14.7%), 19.8% between 10,000 and 15,000 rubles (20.2%), 24.6% between 15,000 and 25,000 rubles (23.5%), 12.0% between 25,000 and 35,000 rubles (10.8%) and 14.4% over 35,000 rubles (11.9%).
The exchange rate was 30.0871 rubles/$1 on February 8.
