Tatneft begins service work in Turkmenistan

KAZAN. Feb 9 (Interfax) - OJSC Tatneft has started performing service work in Turkmenistan, the company said in a press release.

Company specialists have begun well-workover operations in the south-eastern sector of oil production area N4 at NGDU Goturdepenebit. The work is being performed under a contract between Tatneft and state-owned company Turkmenneft for rendering services to enhance oil recovery, the press release said.

In August 2010, Tatneft and Turkmenneft wrapped up a contract to carry out service work to boost oil recovery in the framework of developing the Goturdepe field, which is being carried out by the Turkmen company. The contract's validity is seven years and entered into force on November 3, 2010. The contract's supervisor on Tatneft's side is NGDU Elkhovneft.

Tatneft registered its Turkmenistan affiliate in February of last year.
