NCSP Group handles 6.9% more cargo in Jan, despite bad weather

MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax) - Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group's (NCSP) raised cargo throughput 6.9% year-on-year in January to 13.8 million tonnes, the company said.

Poor weathr affected the port, which received eight gale warnings lasting 12 hours or more. The weather had not been as bad since December 1997.

NSCP will unveil more detailed freight figures for the month on February 13.

The port handled 157 million tonnes of cargo in 2011.

NSCP Group includes Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group (NCSP), the largest Russian port operator and the third biggest in Europe in terms of cargo turnover; PJSC Primorsk Trade Port (since 2011), PJSC Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, OJSC Novorossiysk Shipyard, PJSC Fleet of NCSP, OJSC NLE, OJSC IPP, and Baltic Stevedoring Company Ltd.

NCSP shares are traded on Russia's MICEX exchange (NMTP) and on the London Stock Exchange in the form of GDRs (NCSP).
