Dollar up significantly on Friday
MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax) - The dollar made significant gains on the MICEX on Friday, and the euro was also up, while ruble fell against the bi-currency basket amid deteriorating moods on capital markets.
The dollar closed the day on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) up 36 kopecks at 30.08 rubles/$1, while the euro grew 10 kopecks to 39.67 rubles/EUR1. The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) rose 24 kopecks to 34.4 rubles.
The Central Bank simultaneously raised its official dollar and euro rate for the first time this month. Its dollar rate was up by 21.28 kopecks to 39.8923 rubles/$1, and its euro rate rose 15.15 kopecks to 39.6282 rubles/EUR1.
The dollar averaged up 18.47 kopecks to 29.8973 rubles/$1 in Today deals on the MICEX and 20.36 kopecks to 29.9565 rubles/$1 in Tom deals. Overall trading volume was $7.448 billion, including $1.716 billion Today and $5.732 billion Tom.
The euro grew 14.88 kopecks to 39.6442 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and 15.59 kopecks to 39.666 rubles/EUR1 in Tom deals in volume of EUR490.6 million, including EUR198.9 million Today and EUR291.7million Tom.
The MosPrime rate for overnight loans rose 9 basis points to 4.52%.
