Sheremetyevo Airport increases passenger throughput 20% in Jan
MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - OJSC Sheremetyevo International Airport provided services to 1.746 million passengers in January 2012, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%, the company said in a statement.
Passenger transport on international flights increased by 19.4% to 1.159 million persons and domestic routes - 21.5% to 586,000 persons.
"The most in-demand foreign destinations for January 2012 were Paris, Hurghada, Sharm-El-Sheikh, Prague, Istanbul, Kyiv, Bangkok, Amsterdam, and Rome, and federal destinations - St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Rostov on the Don, Kaliningrad, and Vladivostok," the statement said.
Sheremetyevo provided services to 22.5 million persons in 2011, up 16.7% from 2010.
The Russian state owns 100% in the airport.
