Ekho Moskvy reshuffling not linked to Putin's criticism - Peskov

MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - The Russian prime minister's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, has categorically denied links between the current reshuffling in the Ekho Moskvy radio station's board of directors and Vladimir Putin's criticism of the radio station.

"It is an open secret that Putin was and remains a target of criticism on Ekho Moskvy radio. He has had no complaints about objective criticism, but he himself kept criticizing the radio station for criticism that is unconstructive and biased. One has to admit that this kind of criticism is becoming dominant on Ekho Moskvy," Peskov said.

"At the same time, this has never been an obstacle to normal and businesslike contacts between Putin and the radio station management. Everyone knows that Putin and Venediktov have been absolutely sincere while exchanging views on all pressing issues in various formats," Peskov said.

"Anyway, it would be wrong to link the inner corporative processes within Ekho Moskvy to Putin's criticism, or suggest that anyone is being put under control," he said.

"I am sure if Venediktov is asked whether the latest developments are connected with Putin's criticism he would answer in the negative," Peskov said.
