Russian Railways ships 1.3% less ferrous metal in Jan

MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - Russian Railways (RZD) shipped 7.34 million tonnes of ferrous metals in January, 1.3% less than in the same month last year, the company said in materials.

Domestic shipments fell 6.5% to 3.7 million tonnes and international shipments rose 4.6% to 3.64 million tonnes.

Shipments via ports grew 7.6% to 2.33 million tonnes, while shipments via border crossings fell 0.4% to 1.3 million tonnes.

Imports fell 12.2% to 543,000 tonnes, exports grew 7.9% to 2.94 million tonnes and transit came to 154,000 tonnes.
