Ukraine's trade deficit expands 120% in 2011

KYIV. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Ukraine's foreign trade deficit in Ukraine came to $6.75 billion, up 120% from the result for 2010, the Ukrainian State Statistics Service said in a statement.

The service said that exports in 2011 went up by 30% to $82.11 billion while imports increased 34.2% to $88.85 billion.

The deficit for foreign trade of goods increased last year to 52.1% to $14.2 billion. Export of goods increased by 33.1% to $68.41 billion while imports went up b y 36% to $82.61 billion.

The trade surplus for services in 2011 increased by 18% to $7.45 billion. Exports of services increased 16.5% to $13.7 billion while imports went up by 14.7% to $6.25 billion.
