Yukos case convict Pereverzin released

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - One of the suspects convicted in the Yukos case, the company's former deputy director for external debt Vladimir Pereverzin, has been released from prison.

The former Yukos manager was released because his prison term has expired, according to the press center of the lawyers for Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev.

Lawyer Alexei Dudnik said that on January 13, 2012, the Petushinsky District Court brought Pereverzin's verdict in line with changes in the law by slashing his prison term by 14 months. The prison term expired today and Pereverzin has been released.

On March 1, 2007, the Basmanny Court in Moscow issued a verdict, taking account of the changes made by the cassation ruling of the Moscow City Court of June 21, 2007, and the rulings by the Kovrov town court in the Vladimir region and the Petushinsky District Court in the Vladimir Region, and sentenced Pereverzin to seven years and two months of imprisonment without a fine, the press center said.
