MinFin could extend monopoly infrastructure tax break transition period

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The Russian Finance Ministry will again suggest scrapping tax breaks on the infrastructure assets of natural monopolies this year, but it may also extend the transition period for phasing these breaks out.

"The abolition of the breaks was not approved last year, and we'll repeat the proposal this year, in the tax policy framework," Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov told reporters.

The proposed transition period of three years could be increased to four, he said.
