Belarus to up tariff on petroleum products transit by 10% on April 1
MINSK. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Belarus will increase the tariff for petroleum product transport through the country by pipeline by 10% on April 1 of this year.
This decision is enshrined in a Belarusian Economy Ministry order, the text of which has been published on the national legal portal.
Starting on April 1, the tariff for petroleum products transit through Belarus will be set at $2.09 per tonne moved 100 kilometers. According to an Economy Ministry provision adopted in February of last year, this tariff was set at $1.9 per tonne moved 100 kilometers on July 1, 2011.
Decisions to increase tariffs are made in accordance with an agreement between the Belarusian and Russian governments on interaction in operating main oil pipelines located in Belarus.
Russian enterprise Zapad-Transnefteprodukt transports petroleum products in Belarus through Russian-owned main pipelines passing through the country. Every year, petroleum product transit through Belarus totals around 9 million tonnes.
