Azerbaijan boosts gas export 15.3% in Jan
BAKU. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan boosted gas export 15.3% year-on-year in January to 747.23 million cu m, the State Customs Committee said, quoting figures for metered exports.
Gas exports according to simplified customs declarations came to 194.028 mcm or $50.287 million.
Azerbaijani gas is currently exported by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) to Russia, Iran and Georgia, as well as by the Shah Deniz consortium through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline to Turkey.
The Customs Committee has said metered gas exports came to just over 7.092 bcm in 2011.
The Azerbaijani government forecasts Azerbaijan will produce 28.28 bcm of gas in 2012.
