Bashneft, Lukoil win auctions for sections in Nenets Autonomous District

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Bashneft and Lukoil have won auctions for oil sections in the Nenets Autonomous District, the Russian Federal Subsurface Resources Agency's (Rosnedra) regional division told Interfax.

Bashneft won an auction for the Yangareysky and Sabriyaginsky sections. It surpassed the starting price (29 million rubles) for the Yangareysky section 93-fold, offering 2.711 billion rubles. For the Sabriyaginsky section, it topped the starting price (3 million rubles) 600-fold, offering 1.8 billion rubles.

Lukoil, meanwhile, won an auction for the Verkhneyangareysky section, offering 121 times more money (1.83 billion rubles) for the section than the starting price (15 million rubles).

The Yangareysky section has D1 oil reserves totaling 8.4 million tonnes, and D2 reserves of 17.8 million tonnes. D1 oil reserves at the Sabriyaginsky section are estimated at 300,000 tonnes, and D2 reserves - 900,000 tonnes. The Verkhneyangareysky section's D1 oil reserves stand at 5.4 million tonnes, and its D2 reserves - 5.9 million tonnes.

Rosnedra initially planned to conduct an auction for these sections last October, but then it moved them to November. At that time, Rosnedra introduced new requirements stipulating that only Russian companies could participate in these auctions and develop the sections. At the end of October, the auctions were cancelled.

Bashneft, Lukoil, Surgutneftegas and Shell's Russian subsidiary all submitted applications to participate in the auctions.
